Finding Your Way Links, Icons and Responses
If you are new to computer use or to taking a class on the computer you may be wondering how to operate in this new/virtual classroom. Its really quite simple. As you move throught the course you will notice that some words or phrases that are underlined. You may also notice that when you move the curser over these words the color or contrast changes.This is the way you will know there is a connection or "Link" to an article or activity.
As you move through the module you will also notice that there are small picutres imbedded throughout the text. These pictures are known as icons and are used to identify the type of activity that will be required during a particular actvity in the section. Icons are often used as a way to inform you the type of activities and links that are coming up soon. Following are examples of icons that you am encounter in any one of the modules:
Additional articles to read supporting the topic
Discussion board participation
Learning activities
Lectures/ written description of the course content
Pre and post class checklist of knowledge and practice on the topic
Quizzes to assess your new knowledge
Reflective journaling
View video clips online
Write a 1-2 page paper and email to your instructor
