Module III: Positive Guidance

Overview

Welcome to the third module of “Guiding Behavior of Young Children” where we will learn more about positive communication, direct guidance, coping with challenging behaviors - anger and aggression, strategies for specific challenging behaviors and creation of the “Individual Guidance Plan”.  This course is part three of three courses developed by the Building Bridges with Higher Education Project and STARS, and offered through Puget Sound Educational Service District’s Early Learning Outreach Program, local community and Technical colleges, and community partners.

This module consists of six sections.  For each of these sections, you will create an online portfolio of all of your work.  Your coursework and assignments will all be completed online.  You will update your portfolio as you complete your assignments.  A certificate of completion will be available online upon your successful completion, and credit will be awarded through the college you registered with.  You may email your instructor with questions, or post them on the discussion board.
